Normally, the Super Bowl is a pretty hot ticket, but in 2014, it may be cooler in more ways than one. For the first time in a long time, next year's Super Bowl will be played outdoors, and not just outdoors, but in MetLife Stadium in the Medowlands, New Jersey, home of the New York Football Giants. The game is scheduled for February 2, smack dab in the middle of winter.
What's more, the Farmers Almanac is predicting that weather conditions on that day will be bitterly cold complete with a big winter storm. So how accurate is the almanac? The 197 year old publication was only off by a couple days in predicting last year's Northeast storms which brought 3 feet of snow to some locations.
We can't imagine ticket sales will be affected if the Super Bowl teams are the Green Bay Packers and Buffalo Bills, but what if it's the Bucs and Dolphins. Ya think those sun loving tropical fans are gonna shell out thousands to freeze their ass off at the Medowlands?
