Maybe this guy took a lead from the commercial airline companies who've been nickle and diming customers for everything from baggage to pillows and blankets, but it's still another example of consumers getting screwed.
The landlord of a highrise apartment building posted a sign on the elevators that said, "Effective October 1, 2013, residents will be required to use a scan card to ride the elevator. Your first 60 uses are free. Additional elevator rides will result in a $35 monthly charge". Ebenezer then added insult to the injury of the more sedendary residents by saying "If you choose not to pay for elevator service, the stairs are still free."
So what's next? locked windows that require payment to open? Coin operated dishwashers? Pay toilets?
