From time to time, the internet publishes the top 10 list of outrageous excuses for being late to work. This one will probably appear on the next list.
Public train commuters in Bristol, England were about 2 hours late for work while conductors kept the rail cars at a standstill wondering what to do about a stray cow who had wandered onto the tracks and was sitting comfortably munching on grass growing between the railroad ties.
So what's the big deal. Stop the train, get out and coax the cow out of the way and get going again. Why should this take 2 hours to accomplish. We thought the english were supposed to be really smart, what with their proper use of the language and all. Apparently, not.
While some commuters were reported to be angry, others deemed the situation quite humorous and mused softly while sipping their tea. Cheerio mates, have a proper bobby-dazzling day and don't run over any bovine!
