We're guessing most kids in the U.S have been thoroughly schooled in the idea of NEVER talking to, or God forbid, getting into a car with, a stranger.
But at least one youngster in the English town of Kent, England either never heard the rule, or was just too shy to follow it. An elderly grandfather was sent to pick up his grandaughter at school and take her to a doctors's appointment. He pulls up to the school and spots a youngster who looks like her standing on the sidewalk. He rolls down the passenger window and calls out his grandaughter's name. The 6 year old answers, comes over and gets into the car with the grandpa. He then takes her to the doctors appointment where she receives some medication and he returns her to school, completely unharmed thank God.
It's not until the young girl returns home after school and her parents discover the medicine that she explains what happened. This girl had the same name as the one who gramps was supposed to pick up and she was the same age too. The problem was, she wasn't the right girl and she got in the car with him anyway. Her father was livid. He used the opportunity to remind parents to teach their kids never to go with strangers. So why did the kid go with the old man? Who knows? She's 6 and sometimes 6 year olds just make poor decisions. That's why they have parents.
