You could label this story our "stupid criminal of the week", our "outstanding drunk of the week", or even our "lazy police officer of the week".
All three apply to the tale of Kiler Gitner who pulled up to a Burger King drive thru just after midnight. He was given the familiar greeting, "Welcome to Burger King, may I take your order"? And then...SILENCE... and more silence. Finally after a few minutes when the order taker couldn't get a response from Gitner, the BK manager called police. Now here's where's the "lazy cop" part comes in. 2 hours after phoning police, a cruiser finally showed up at the fast food franchise. They hauled Gitner out of his vehicle and gave him a field sobriety test including breathalizer.
Of course, he failed miserably and was taken to jail for drunk driving. The question still begs, why in the hell did it take 2 hours for them to show up? If Kiler Gitner had known how long we was passed out in his car at the drive thru, he'd probably been pissed at himself, knowing he could've escaped with plenty of time to spare before the officers showed up to arrest him. Oh well, live and learn Kiler.
